At-Takwir 1
إِذَا ٱلشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَتْ ﴿١﴾
Itha alshshamsu kuwwirat
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). The Noble Quran
إِذَا ٱلشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَتْ ﴿١﴾

When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). The Noble Quran
وَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ ٱنكَدَرَتْ ﴿٢﴾
Waitha alnnujoomu inkadarat
And when the stars shall fall; The Noble Quran
وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتْ ﴿٣﴾
Waitha aljibalu suyyirat
And when the mountains shall made to pass away; The Noble Quran
وَإِذَا ٱلْعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتْ ﴿٤﴾
Waitha alAAisharu AAuttilat
And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; The Noble Quran
وَإِذَا ٱلْوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتْ ﴿٥﴾
Waitha alwuhooshu hushirat
And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; The Noble Quran
وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْ ﴿٦﴾
Waitha albiharu sujjirat
And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; The Noble Quran
وَإِذَا ٱلنُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتْ ﴿٧﴾
Waitha alnnufoosu zuwwijat
And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; The Noble Quran
وَإِذَا ٱلْمَوْءُۥدَةُ سُئِلَتْ ﴿٨﴾
Waitha almawoodatu suilat
And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. The Noble Quran
بِأَىِّ ذَنۢبٍ قُتِلَتْ ﴿٩﴾
Biayyi thanbin qutilat
For what sin she was killed? The Noble Quran
وَإِذَا ٱلصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتْ ﴿١٠﴾
Waitha alssuhufu nushirat
And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; The Noble Quran
وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ كُشِطَتْ ﴿١١﴾
Waitha alssamao kushitat
And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; The Noble Quran
وَإِذَا ٱلْجَحِيمُ سُعِّرَتْ ﴿١٢﴾
Waitha aljaheemu suAAAAirat
And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. The Noble Quran
وَإِذَا ٱلْجَنَّةُ أُزْلِفَتْ ﴿١٣﴾
Waitha aljannatu ozlifat
And when Paradise shall be brought near, The Noble Quran
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّآ أَحْضَرَتْ ﴿١٤﴾
AAalimat nafsun ma ahdarat
(Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). The Noble Quran
فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلْخُنَّسِ ﴿١٥﴾
Fala oqsimu bialkhunnasi
So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). The Noble Quran
ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْكُنَّسِ ﴿١٦﴾
Aljawari alkunnasi
And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, The Noble Quran
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا عَسْعَسَ ﴿١٧﴾
Waallayli itha AAasAAasa
And by the night as it departs; The Noble Quran
وَٱلصُّبْحِ إِذَا تَنَفَّسَ ﴿١٨﴾
Waalssubhi itha tanaffasa
And by the dawn as it brightens; The Noble Quran
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ ﴿١٩﴾
Innahu laqawlu rasoolin kareemin
Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. The Noble Quran
ذِى قُوَّةٍ عِندَ ذِى ٱلْعَرْشِ مَكِينٍ ﴿٢٠﴾
Thee quwwatin AAinda thee alAAarshi makeenin
Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, The Noble Quran
مُّطَاعٍ ثَمَّ أَمِينٍ ﴿٢١﴾
MutaAAin thamma ameenin
Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). The Noble Quran
وَمَا صَاحِبُكُم بِمَجْنُونٍ ﴿٢٢﴾
Wama sahibukum bimajnoonin
And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; The Noble Quran
وَلَقَدْ رَءَاهُ بِٱلْأُفُقِ ٱلْمُبِينِ ﴿٢٣﴾
Walaqad raahu bialofuqi almubeeni
And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). The Noble Quran
وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى ٱلْغَيْبِ بِضَنِينٍ ﴿٢٤﴾
Wama huwa AAala alghaybi bidaneenin
And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. The Noble Quran
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَيْطَٰنٍ رَّجِيمٍ ﴿٢٥﴾
Wama huwa biqawli shaytanin rajeemin
And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). The Noble Quran
فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ ﴿٢٦﴾
Faayna tathhaboona
Then where are you going? The Noble Quran
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿٢٧﴾
In huwa illa thikrun lilAAalameena
Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). The Noble Quran
لِمَن شَآءَ مِنكُمْ أَن يَسْتَقِيمَ ﴿٢٨﴾
Liman shaa minkum an yastaqeema
To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, The Noble Quran
وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿٢٩﴾
Wama tashaoona illa an yashaa Allahu rabbu alAAalameena
And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). The Noble Quran
