Al-Fajr 1
وَٱلْفَجْرِ ﴿١﴾
Waalfajri
By the dawn; The Noble Quran
وَٱلْفَجْرِ ﴿١﴾
Waalfajri
By the dawn; The Noble Quran
وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ ﴿٢﴾
Walayalin AAashrin
By the ten nights (i.e. the first ten days of the month of Dhul-Hijjah). The Noble Quran
وَٱلشَّفْعِ وَٱلْوَتْرِ ﴿٣﴾
WaalshshafAAi waalwatri
And by the even and the odd (of all the creations of Allah). The Noble Quran
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِ ﴿٤﴾
Waallayli itha yasri
And by the night when it departs. The Noble Quran
هَلْ فِى ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٌ لِّذِى حِجْرٍ ﴿٥﴾
Hal fee thalika qasamun lithee hijrin
There is indeed in them (the above oaths) sufficient proofs for men of understanding (and that, they should avoid all kinds of sins and disbeliefs, etc.)! The Noble Quran
أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ ﴿٦﴾
Alam tara kayfa faAAala rabbuka biAAadin
Did you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) not see (thought) how your Lord dealt with 'Ad (people)? The Noble Quran
إِرَمَ ذَاتِ ٱلْعِمَادِ ﴿٧﴾
Irama thati alAAimadi
Who were very tall like lofty pillars, The Noble Quran
ٱلَّتِى لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِى ٱلْبِلَٰدِ ﴿٨﴾
Allatee lam yukhlaq mithluha fee albiladi
The like of which were not created in the land? The Noble Quran
وَثَمُودَ ٱلَّذِينَ جَابُوا۟ ٱلصَّخْرَ بِٱلْوَادِ ﴿٩﴾
Wathamooda allatheena jaboo alssakhra bialwadi
And (with) Thamud (people), who cut (hewed) out rocks in the valley (to make dwellings)? The Noble Quran
وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِى ٱلْأَوْتَادِ ﴿١٠﴾
WafirAAawna thee alawtadi
And (with) Fir'aun (Pharaoh), who had pegs (who used to torture men by binding them to pegs)? The Noble Quran
ٱلَّذِينَ طَغَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْبِلَٰدِ ﴿١١﴾
Allatheena taghaw fee albiladi
Who did transgress beyond bounds in the lands (in the disobedience of Allah). The Noble Quran
فَأَكْثَرُوا۟ فِيهَا ٱلْفَسَادَ ﴿١٢﴾
Faaktharoo feeha alfasada
And made therein much mischief. The Noble Quran
فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ ﴿١٣﴾
Fasabba AAalayhim rabbuka sawta AAathabin
So your Lord poured on them different kinds of severe torment. The Noble Quran
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِٱلْمِرْصَادِ ﴿١٤﴾
Inna rabbaka labialmirsadi
Verily, your Lord is Ever Watchful (over them). The Noble Quran
فَأَمَّا ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ إِذَا مَا ٱبْتَلَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَأَكْرَمَهُۥ وَنَعَّمَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّىٓ أَكْرَمَنِ ﴿١٥﴾
Faamma alinsanu itha ma ibtalahu rabbuhu faakramahu wanaAAAAamahu fayaqoolu rabbee akramani
As for man, when his Lord tries him by giving him honour and gifts, then he says (puffed up): "My Lord has honoured me." The Noble Quran
وَأَمَّآ إِذَا مَا ٱبْتَلَىٰهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّىٓ أَهَٰنَنِ ﴿١٦﴾
Waamma itha ma ibtalahu faqadara AAalayhi rizqahu fayaqoolu rabbee ahanani
But when He tries him, by straitening his means of life, he says: "My Lord has humiliated me!" The Noble Quran
كَلَّا بَل لَّا تُكْرِمُونَ ٱلْيَتِيمَ ﴿١٧﴾
Kalla bal la tukrimoona alyateema
Nay! But you treat not the orphans with kindness and generosity (i.e. you neither treat them well, nor give them their exact right of inheritance)! The Noble Quran
وَلَا تَحَٰٓضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ ﴿١٨﴾
Wala tahaddoona AAala taAAami almiskeeni
And urge not on the feeding of AlMiskin (the poor)! The Noble Quran
وَتَأْكُلُونَ ٱلتُّرَاثَ أَكْلًا لَّمًّا ﴿١٩﴾
Watakuloona altturatha aklan lamman
And you devour inheritance all with greed, The Noble Quran
وَتُحِبُّونَ ٱلْمَالَ حُبًّا جَمًّا ﴿٢٠﴾
Watuhibboona almala hubban jamman
And you love wealth with much love! The Noble Quran
كَلَّآ إِذَا دُكَّتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ دَكًّا دَكًّا ﴿٢١﴾
Kalla itha dukkati alardu dakkan dakkan
Nay! When the earth is ground to powder, The Noble Quran
وَجَآءَ رَبُّكَ وَٱلْمَلَكُ صَفًّا صَفًّا ﴿٢٢﴾
Wajaa rabbuka waalmalaku saffan saffan
And your Lord comes with the angels in rows, The Noble Quran
وَجِا۟ىٓءَ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِجَهَنَّمَ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ ﴿٢٣﴾
Wajeea yawmaithin bijahannama yawmaithin yatathakkaru alinsanu waanna lahu alththikra
And Hell will be brought near that Day. On that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance (then) avail him? The Noble Quran
يَقُولُ يَٰلَيْتَنِى قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِى ﴿٢٤﴾
Yaqoolu ya laytanee qaddamtu lihayatee
He will say: "Alas! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my life!" The Noble Quran
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ ﴿٢٥﴾
Fayawmaithin la yuAAaththibu AAathabahu ahadun
So on that Day, none will punish as He will punish. The Noble Quran
وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ ﴿٢٦﴾
Wala yoothiqu wathaqahu ahadun
And none will bind as He will bind. The Noble Quran
يَٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفْسُ ٱلْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ ﴿٢٧﴾
Ya ayyatuha alnnafsu almutmainnatu
(It will be said to the pious): "O (you) the one in (complete) rest and satisfaction! The Noble Quran
ٱرْجِعِىٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَّرْضِيَّةً ﴿٢٨﴾
IrjiAAee ila rabbiki radiyatan mardiyyatan
"Come back to your Lord, Well-pleased (yourself) and well-pleasing unto Him! The Noble Quran
فَٱدْخُلِى فِى عِبَٰدِى ﴿٢٩﴾
Faodkhulee fee AAibadee
"Enter you, then, among My honoured slaves, The Noble Quran
وَٱدْخُلِى جَنَّتِى ﴿٣٠﴾
Waodkhulee jannatee
"And enter you My Paradise!" The Noble Quran
