Ad-Dukhaan 1

حمٓ ﴿١﴾

Hameem

Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 2

وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ ﴿٢﴾

Waalkitabi almubeeni

By the manifest Book (this Quran) that makes things clear, The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 3

إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةٍ مُّبَٰرَكَةٍ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنذِرِينَ ﴿٣﴾

Inna anzalnahu fee laylatin mubarakatin inna kunna munthireena

We sent it (this Quran) down on a blessed night [(i.e. night of Qadr, Surah No: 97) in the month of Ramadan,, the 9th month of the Islamic calendar]. Verily, We are ever warning [mankind that Our Torment will reach those who disbelieve in Our Oneness of Lordship and in Our Oneness of worship]. The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 4

فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ ﴿٤﴾

Feeha yufraqu kullu amrin hakeemin

Therein (that night) is decreed every matter of ordainments. The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 5

أَمْرًا مِّنْ عِندِنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ ﴿٥﴾

Amran min AAindina inna kunna mursileena

Amran (i.e. a Command or this Quran or the Decree of every matter) from Us. Verily, We are ever sending (the Messengers), The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 6

رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ﴿٦﴾

Rahmatan min rabbika innahu huwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu

(As) a Mercy from your Lord. Verily! He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 7

رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ ﴿٧﴾

Rabbi alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma in kuntum mooqineena

The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you (but) have a faith with certainty. The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 8

لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ﴿٨﴾

La ilaha illa huwa yuhyee wayumeetu rabbukum warabbu abaikumu alawwaleena

La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). It is He Who gives life and causes death, your Lord and the Lord of your fore-fathers. The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 9

بَلْ هُمْ فِى شَكٍّ يَلْعَبُونَ ﴿٩﴾

Bal hum fee shakkin yalAAaboona

Nay! They play in doubt. The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 10

فَٱرْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِى ٱلسَّمَآءُ بِدُخَانٍ مُّبِينٍ ﴿١٠﴾

Fairtaqib yawma tatee alssamao bidukhanin mubeenin

Then wait you for the Day when the sky will bring forth a visible smoke. The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 11

يَغْشَى ٱلنَّاسَ هَٰذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ﴿١١﴾

Yaghsha alnnasa hatha AAathabun aleemun

Covering the people, this is a painful torment. The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 12

رَّبَّنَا ٱكْشِفْ عَنَّا ٱلْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿١٢﴾

Rabbana ikshif AAanna alAAathaba inna muminoona

(They will say): "Our Lord! Remove the torment from us, really we shall become believers!" The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 13

أَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ وَقَدْ جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّبِينٌ ﴿١٣﴾

Anna lahumu alththikra waqad jaahum rasoolun mubeenun

How can there be for them an admonition (at the time when the torment has reached them), when a Messenger explaining things clearly has already come to them. The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 14

ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا۟ مُعَلَّمٌ مَّجْنُونٌ ﴿١٤﴾

Thumma tawallaw AAanhu waqaloo muAAallamun majnoonun

Then they had turned away from him (Messenger Muhammad SAW) and said: "One (Muhammad SAW) taught (by a human being), a madman!" The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 15

إِنَّا كَاشِفُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُمْ عَآئِدُونَ ﴿١٥﴾

Inna kashifoo alAAathabi qaleelan innakum AAaidoona

Verily, We shall remove the torment for a while. Verily! You will revert. The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 16

يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ ٱلْبَطْشَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَ ﴿١٦﴾

Yawma nabtishu albatshata alkubra inna muntaqimoona

On the Day when We shall seize you with the greatest grasp. Verily, We will exact retribution. The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 17

وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَجَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ كَرِيمٌ ﴿١٧﴾

Walaqad fatanna qablahum qawma firAAawna wajaahum rasoolun kareemun

And indeed We tried before them Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people, when there came to them a noble Messenger [i.e. Musa (Moses)], The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 18

أَنْ أَدُّوٓا۟ إِلَىَّ عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ﴿١٨﴾

An addoo ilayya AAibada Allahi innee lakum rasoolun ameenun

Saying: "Restore to me the slaves of Allah (i.e. the Children of Israel). Verily! I am to you a Messenger worthy of all trust, The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 19

وَأَن لَّا تَعْلُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ إِنِّىٓ ءَاتِيكُم بِسُلْطَٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ ﴿١٩﴾

Waan la taAAloo AAala Allahi innee ateekum bisultanin mubeenin

"And exalt not (yourselves) against Allah. Truly, I have come to you with a manifest authority. The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 20

وَإِنِّى عُذْتُ بِرَبِّى وَرَبِّكُمْ أَن تَرْجُمُونِ ﴿٢٠﴾

Wainnee AAuthtu birabbee warabbikum an tarjumooni

"And truly, I seek refuge in my Lord and your Lord, lest you stone me (or call me a sorcerer or kill me). The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 21

وَإِن لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوا۟ لِى فَٱعْتَزِلُونِ ﴿٢١﴾

Wain lam tuminoo lee faiAAtazilooni

"But if you believe me not, then keep away from me and leave me alone." The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 22

فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوْمٌ مُّجْرِمُونَ ﴿٢٢﴾

FadaAAa rabbahu anna haolai qawmun mujrimoona

(But they were aggressive), so he [Musa (Moses)] called upon his Lord (saying): "These are indeed the people who are Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals, etc.)." The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 23

فَأَسْرِ بِعِبَادِى لَيْلًا إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ ﴿٢٣﴾

Faasri biAAibadee laylan innakum muttabaAAoona

(Allah said): "Depart you with My slaves by night. Surely, you will be pursued. The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 24

وَٱتْرُكِ ٱلْبَحْرَ رَهْوًا إِنَّهُمْ جُندٌ مُّغْرَقُونَ ﴿٢٤﴾

Waotruki albahra rahwan innahum jundun mughraqoona

"And leave the sea as it is (quiet and divided). Verily, They are a host to be drowned." The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 25

كَمْ تَرَكُوا۟ مِن جَنَّٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ ﴿٢٥﴾

Kam tarakoo min jannatin waAAuyoonin

How many of gardens and springs do they [Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people] left. The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 26

وَزُرُوعٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ ﴿٢٦﴾

WazurooAAin wamaqamin kareemin

And green crops (fields etc.) and goodly places, The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 27

وَنَعْمَةٍ كَانُوا۟ فِيهَا فَٰكِهِينَ ﴿٢٧﴾

WanaAAmatin kanoo feeha fakiheena

And comforts of life wherein they used to take delight! The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 28

كَذَٰلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَٰهَا قَوْمًا ءَاخَرِينَ ﴿٢٨﴾

Kathalika waawrathnaha qawman akhareena

Thus (it was)! And We made other people inherit them (i.e. We made the Children of Israel to inherit the kingdom of Egypt). The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 29

فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنظَرِينَ ﴿٢٩﴾

Fama bakat AAalayhimu alssamao waalardu wama kanoo munthareena

And the heavens and the earth wept not for them, nor were they given a respite. The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 30

وَلَقَدْ نَجَّيْنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْمُهِينِ ﴿٣٠﴾

Walaqad najjayna banee israeela mina alAAathabi almuheeni

And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 31

مِن فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَالِيًا مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ ﴿٣١﴾

Min firAAawna innahu kana AAaliyan mina almusrifeena

From Fir'aun (Pharaoh); Verily! He was arrogant and was of the Musrifun (those who transgress beyond bound in spending and other things and commit great sins). The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 32

وَلَقَدِ ٱخْتَرْنَٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿٣٢﴾

Walaqadi ikhtarnahum AAala AAilmin AAala alAAalameena

And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind, and jinns) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge, The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 33

وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ مَا فِيهِ بَلَٰٓؤٌا۟ مُّبِينٌ ﴿٣٣﴾

Waataynahum mina alayati ma feehi balaon mubeenun

And granted them signs in which there was a plain trial. The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 34

إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَيَقُولُونَ ﴿٣٤﴾

Inna haolai layaqooloona

Verily, these (Quraish) people are saying: The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 35

إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا مَوْتَتُنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُنشَرِينَ ﴿٣٥﴾

In hiya illa mawtatuna aloola wama nahnu bimunshareena

"There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 36

فَأْتُوا۟ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ ﴿٣٦﴾

Fatoo biabaina in kuntum sadiqeena

"Then bring back our fore-fathers, if you speak the truth!" The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 37

أَهُمْ خَيْرٌ أَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ أَهْلَكْنَٰهُمْ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ ﴿٣٧﴾

Ahum khayrun am qawmu tubbaAAin waallatheena min qablihim ahlaknahum innahum kanoo mujrimeena

Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them because they were indeed Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals, etc.). The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 38

وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَٰعِبِينَ ﴿٣٨﴾

Wama khalaqna alssamawati waalarda wama baynahuma laAAibeena

And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play, The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 39

مَا خَلَقْنَٰهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٣٩﴾

Ma khalaqnahuma illa bialhaqqi walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoona

We created them not except with truth (i.e. to examine and test those who are obedient and those who are disobedient and then reward the obedient ones and punish the disobedient ones), but most of them know not. The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 40

إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ مِيقَٰتُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ﴿٤٠﴾

Inna yawma alfasli meeqatuhum ajmaAAeena

Verily, the Day of Judgement (when Allah will judge between the creatures) is the time appointed for all of them, The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 41

يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى مَوْلًى عَن مَّوْلًى شَيْـًٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ ﴿٤١﴾

Yawma la yughnee mawlan AAan mawlan shayan wala hum yunsaroona

The Day when Maulan (a near relative) cannot avail Maulan (a near relative) in aught, and no help can they receive, The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 42

إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ ٱللَّهُ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ﴿٤٢﴾

Illa man rahima Allahu innahu huwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu

Except him on whom Allah has Mercy. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 43

إِنَّ شَجَرَتَ ٱلزَّقُّومِ ﴿٤٣﴾

Inna shajarata alzzaqqoomi

Verily, the tree of Zaqqum, The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 44

طَعَامُ ٱلْأَثِيمِ ﴿٤٤﴾

TaAAamu alatheemi

Will be the food of the sinners, The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 45

كَٱلْمُهْلِ يَغْلِى فِى ٱلْبُطُونِ ﴿٤٥﴾

Kaalmuhli yaghlee fee albutooni

Like boiling oil, it will boil in the bellies, The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 46

كَغَلْىِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ ﴿٤٦﴾

Kaghalyi alhameemi

Like the boiling of scalding water. The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 47

خُذُوهُ فَٱعْتِلُوهُ إِلَىٰ سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ ﴿٤٧﴾

Khuthoohu faiAAtiloohu ila sawai aljaheemi

(It will be said) "Seize him and drag him into the midst of blazing Fire, The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 48

ثُمَّ صُبُّوا۟ فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِۦ مِنْ عَذَابِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ ﴿٤٨﴾

Thumma subboo fawqa rasihi min AAathabi alhameemi

"Then pour over his head the torment of boiling water, The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 49

ذُقْ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْكَرِيمُ ﴿٤٩﴾

Thuq innaka anta alAAazeezu alkareemu

"Taste you (this)! Verily, you were (pretending to be) the mighty, the generous! The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 50

إِنَّ هَٰذَا مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَمْتَرُونَ ﴿٥٠﴾

Inna hatha ma kuntum bihi tamtaroona

"Verily! This is that whereof you used to doubt!" The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 51

إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى مَقَامٍ أَمِينٍ ﴿٥١﴾

Inna almuttaqeena fee maqamin ameenin

Verily! The Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2), will be in place of Security (Paradise). The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 52

فِى جَنَّٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ ﴿٥٢﴾

Fee jannatin waAAuyoonin

Among Gardens and Springs; The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 53

يَلْبَسُونَ مِن سُندُسٍ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٍ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ ﴿٥٣﴾

Yalbasoona min sundusin waistabraqin mutaqabileena

Dressed in fine silk and (also) in thick silk, facing each other, The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 54

كَذَٰلِكَ وَزَوَّجْنَٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ ﴿٥٤﴾

Kathalika wazawwajnahum bihoorin AAeenin

So (it will be), and We shall marry them to Houris (female fair ones) with wide, lovely eyes. The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 55

يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِكُلِّ فَٰكِهَةٍ ءَامِنِينَ ﴿٥٥﴾

YadAAoona feeha bikulli fakihatin amineena

They will call therein for every kind of fruit in peace and security; The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 56

لَا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا ٱلْمَوْتَ إِلَّا ٱلْمَوْتَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ ﴿٥٦﴾

La yathooqoona feeha almawta illa almawtata aloola wawaqahum AAathaba aljaheemi

They will never taste death therein except the first death (of this world), and He will save them from the torment of the blazing Fire, The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 57

فَضْلًا مِّن رَّبِّكَ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ ﴿٥٧﴾

Fadlan min rabbika thalika huwa alfawzu alAAatheemu

As a Bounty from your Lord! That will be the supreme success! The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 58

فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ ﴿٥٨﴾

Fainnama yassarnahu bilisanika laAAallahum yatathakkaroona

Certainly, We have made this (Quran) easy in your tongue, in order that they may remember. The Noble Quran

Ad-Dukhaan 59

فَٱرْتَقِبْ إِنَّهُم مُّرْتَقِبُونَ ﴿٥٩﴾

Fairtaqib innahum murtaqiboona

Wait then (O Muhammad SAW); Verily, they (too) are waiting. The Noble Quran
